The Metropolitan Police & Peabody Trust work with Sev Necati Training

Sev Necati worked in partnership with The Metropolitan Police and Peabody Trust and their Threads Project, to deliver a training programme for young girls to reduce the fear of crime and violence, especially sexual and gang related and improve their overall quality of life.

“I liked that we got involved.”

“I enjoyed learning how to protect myself.”

“Learning self-defence and what to do in situations.”

“I liked doing the role plays and learning to defend myself.”

The session was delivered on Pembury Estate one of the most socially and economically deprived estates in Hackney.  The young girls who came from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities, aged from 10 upwards engaged well, asking many questions, with discussions amongst their peer group as well as being given invaluable skills and techniques by Sev who delivered the training.

"The session was very informative and useful for everyday life.  I hope the girls remember the main points of avoiding dangerous situations and that they use this valuable training for the future.”  Natalie, Senior Fashion Trainer
