Arsenal ITC and The Home Office work with Sev Necati Training

Sev Necati worked in partnership with Arsenal in the Community, in partnership with the Home Office around “"Communities against Guns Gangs & Knives" to deliver a training programme to young girls to help reduce crime and violence against them.

Sev delivered a "Personal Safety" programme to our young girls aged between 13-15. The sessions combined talking and practical exercises in personal safety. Teaching young people how to be safe on the street, street awareness and practical techniques.

"I think the course was affective in all areas for the young females. It made them feel confident and brought them together. It also taught them how to defend themselves in a conflict situation.

I liked the way Sev adapted the knowledge for the younger people that took part. Me and the girls have enjoyed the week's training and we look forward to being involved in more courses.”

“I liked learning new moves of how I can defend myself.”
“I enjoyed everything, including the role play.”

“I enjoyed the techniques and learning about the law.”

“Thank you for teaching me skills that may save my life one day."

Arsenal in the Community’s works allows young people the opportunity to play football and take advantage of the other education, social inclusion and employment programmes they have to offer.

The Home Office says that, knife, gun and gang crime is wholly unacceptable and reducing it is a key priority for the government. Too many young lives are blighted by violent crime and we are committed to making our communities safer places for everyone.

The government’s has prioritised £10 million of Home Office investment into early intervention work in 2012-13, to support up to 30 areas 'most affected by gangs and youth violence'.
