Brent Council & Ashford Place work with Sev Necati Training

Sev Necati worked in partnership with Brent Council and Ashford Place (formally known as the Cricklewood Homeless Centre) to deliver a series of workshops for women in personal safety and self-defence that access the centre and live in the local community.

The free programme took place at Ashford Place and the women and girls aged from sixteen plus took part in discussions and practical exercises in self-defence.



Some Comments from the women and girls when asked what they enjoyed about the session:

Ashford Place provides advice and support services for homeless people in the community.  Over the past 30 years they have grown to become a resource for the entire community, not just those who are homeless. They support and facilitate positive change for individuals through the provision of a range of programmes including; housing, health, training and employment. At the same time they develop services that build capacity and enhance the lives of the local community.

The Welcome People works with Sev Necati Training

Sev Necati worked in partnership with The Welcome People to deliver awareness and avoidance training to their street ambassadors.

Staff learned to become more aware, evaluate and diffuse situations that they may come across whilst working alone, on the street and inside a shop, in one of the busiest and most prestige places in London, the West End!



Staff can find themselves working late / early hours, in very busy places, in addition to working with vulnerable groups and environments that may make them exposed to conflict.  Staff were able to ask questions about their own personal fears they may have in and outside of the workplace.  They took part in a practical exercises where what they had learnt in theory they could see and use in reality.

“I haven’t done any previous conflict resolution training.  I will keep positive with the customer.”

Brent Council & its partners work in partnership with Sev Necati Training

Sev Necati worked in partnership with Brent Council, Willesden Community Sports Centre, it's partners and The Metropolitan Police to deliver a series of women and girls personal safety sessions to the local community.



The free programme took place at Willesden Sports Centre over a number of weeks and young girls and women aged from fourteen plus took part in discussions and practical exercises in self-defence.

Imperial College works with Sev Necati Training

Sev Necati worked in partnership with Imperial College to deliver personal safety sessions to their international students.  The sessions were short slots in a talk on personal safety and practical. Learners were able to ask questions on the subject and practise techniques in self-defence.

New Choices for Youth (NYC) works with Sev Necati Training

Sev Necati worked in partnership with NYC  and a group of young people, to deliver a personal safety course to them .  The young people engaged, with many of them telling their own stories of street violence and bullying.  Taking part in practical exercises and role plays, young people are now more informed on how too manage and deal with conflict if presented with it.

Tower Hamlets Summer University works with Sev Necati Training

Sev Necati worked in partnership with Tower Hamlets Summer University with young people aged 14-25, to deliver a course to them from across borough's.  The aim of the course was so they could feel safer on the streets and increase their awareness to be able to avoid potential dangerous situations.  The course enabled young people to improve their overall fitness level and increase their confidence levels.

City Lit work with Sev Necati Training

Sev Necati worked in partnership with City Lit to deliver awareness and avoidance training to their management, staff and lone workers.


Staff learn to become more aware, evaluate and diffuse situations that they may come across whilst working alone, inside and outside of the workplace.  Most staff can find themselves working late hours and going to remote places, in addition to working with vulnerable groups and environments that may make them exposed to conflict.  Staff were able to ask questions about their own personal fears they may have in and outside of the workplace.  They took part in a practical exercises where what they had learnt in theory they could see and use in reality.
