Sev Necati worked in partnership with Brent Council and Ashford Place (formally
known as the Cricklewood Homeless Centre) to deliver a series of workshops for women
in personal safety and self-defence that access the centre and live in the
local community.
The free programme took place at Ashford Place and the women and girls aged
from sixteen plus took part in discussions and practical exercises in
self-defence.

Comments from the women and girls when asked what they enjoyed about the

Ashford
Place provides advice and support services for homeless people in the community. Over the past 30 years they have grown to
become a resource for the entire community, not just those who are homeless.
They support and facilitate positive change for individuals through the
provision of a range of programmes including; housing, health, training and
employment. At the same time they develop services that build capacity and
enhance the lives of the local community.
