Sev Necati worked in partnership with Salaam Peace, to deliver short bursts
of street safety and knife awareness sessions to young people over two event days.
The first was the Easter Cup held at Lammas School which saw over 350
young people and adults attend, aged 8-25 years old. The theme was unity among Christianity and
Islam. The Leyton Metropolitan Police took
part and participants included ex-prisoners, young offenders as well as women
and girls. You can read more about it on
the Salaam Peace web site:
The second event was the Hit Knife Crime for Six
event that took place at Walthamstow Leisure Centre. This event used cricket to engage with young
people from multi backgrounds, faiths and ethnicities. Sev ran knife awareness sessions to young people
that fully engaged and participated positively.
The event was a success.
