Sev Necati Training (SNT) Combat Series of Personal Safety and Self-Defence workshops which were held at The Edge. Our "Street Combat Personal Safety and Self-Defence Programme" designed specifically for women and girls which engaged with females aged over fourteen years of age. There was eight two hour weekly workshops, which focused in depth on an area of street combat. Each specific workshop had participants engaged in theory and practical exercises. Participants were able to join the whole series or each module individually. Our current classes (physical real street self-defence training) are also running at The Edge: http://sevnecati.blogspot.co.uk/search?updated-min=2016-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&updated-max=2017-01-01T00:00:00-08:00&max-results=15
Some Feedback from the Women & Girls that attended:
"I attended two workshops
delivered by Sev – one on dealing with grabs and weapons, and the other was a
session on positive thinking and mindset. I found both workshops inspiring, as
they encouraged me to think about myself, to feel confident about myself and my
ability to deal with an attack, and most importantly, to be fully aware at all
times when out on the street.
Sev is very encouraging and
during the workshop on grabs, gave us the opportunity to practise escaping from
several different kinds of hold. I came into the workshop nervous and unsure
whether I would be able to do what was asked and left feeling more confident
and able to get out of a situation, if unfortunately it ever arose. I was very
glad that I went along!" Lauren, CEO.
"The course focuses on both
body and mind training which I think is essential for a self defence course.
Sometimes the mind training can be more important as it enables you to build up
to an alternative reaction mode when faced with an attack (as opposed to the
freeze mode). I think this is one of the main benefits of undertaking this
course as opposed to others.
Sev is a down to business
person and you will realise this from the first lesson you will have. You will
be faced with exposure to physical contact from day one. This will obviously be
done in a safe/training environment and will help you identify your physical
capabilities." Corina, Lawyer.
"We covered a lot of areas during the course, both practically and theoretically. It was a very through and intense course, lots of practically training and opportunities to ask questions and cover areas we weren't sure about and to go over them again. The training was very good, aspects of the law and the way Sev was enthusiastic and very encouraging." Barbara, Career.
"The knowledge and confidence that I gained was
fantastic. I hope I never have to fight, but simply knowing that my confidence
will help me in a situation like that is a relief. I liked that positivity; mindfulness and joy are also
ingredients for a less chance of attack. If only more young people (girls and
boys) had opportunities for that. The actual body workouts were great!" Saba, Research Fellow.
