Sev Necati worked in partnership with North London Muslim Centre (NLMC),
and The Funding Network, to deliver our award winning project “Women &
Young People’s Safety Solution.” The
project worked with women and girls from the local community centre, imaan
youth and local people from the surrounding community.
Discussions as well as practical activities
in self-defence and personal safety took place.
The women and girls came from a variety of backgrounds, abilities and
culture’s. They were able to work well
together in understanding how violence could affect all females and how to
empower themselves with new knowledge and skills, as well as providing support
for one another.
